Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a way to extend a private network (Chalmers Network in our case) by means of tunneling the unencrypted traffic inside the encrypted packets. Using a dedicated VPN gateway the VPN users can access the resources inside the private network from "outside" i.e. from the Internet usually.
